GFWC Florida President’s Project: Flight to Honor: During each GFWC Florida administration, the President has the excellent opportunity to choose a President’s Project. For this term, GFWC Florida President Sara Dessureau has chosen to honor our GFWC Florida Women Veterans through a Flight To Honor. Veterans are an essential part not only of our history but also of the ongoing sacrifices they make for our country. While we honor all the veterans, Sara wanted to pay special tribute to female veterans in the GFWC Florida organization. GFWC Florida is sponsoring an all-inclusive flight to Washington, D.C. for approximately 172 GFWC Florida veterans in early 2026. This will be the first all-female veterans Flight to Honor in Florida. Sara’s goal is to raise $150k to cover the costs of the flight, hotel the night before, and food expenses for both the veteran and their guardian.
GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women's Club has made over 180 Patriotic bears, which will be given to each of the Flight of Honor veterans on their return from D.C.
The bears are individually sponsored by both GFWC Club members across Florida, as well as non-members alike. Sponsorship monies helped fund this wonderful project.
